Toy Dance.

We have been learning about toys and how they move in our COGS unit 'Powering On'. Having made a collection of our own toys and investigated what makes them move we have started to work on a toy dance. We worked in pairs to brainstorm toy movements then shared these with the class. We came up with some static movements (where we stand in the same place) such as guitar, soldier, alien, robot, ballerina and baby dance moves. We also had some travelling movements such as tigers, marbles and bouncy balls. Finally we had some that we needed two people to do such as a Jack in the box that needed winding up.

Next we found some toy box music online and working in pairs again planned our dance. We had to choose which moves we wanted to use and count in time so that we filled 4 sets of 8 beats. Then we practised and practised and practised! The music we found is below (it's from a Super Mario game) and we will try to add photos when we perform our dances to the rest of the class.

Cameron and Calvin are going to do a Witch boardgame, Gabriel and Alecia will have a Mario theme, Connor and Vaughn will have a Sonic game, Jess and Anastasia have planned a fairytale adventure game, Armand and Dylan have a crocodile theme, Roshika and Yustina have a rainbow game planned, Olivia and Georgia C plan to use a Dr Seuss theme, Delphi and Emily have an under the sea game, lastly Luke and Arne are planning a science game. Watch this space to see some photos of the completed games.
